Night Owl did a Top player for each team and that made me curious about the teams that I have that weren't Mets (Strawberry), Phillies (Kruk), Cubs (Sandberg), and Pirates (McCutchen). Those are all very easy for me to know. Granted, my collection is much, much smaller than Greg's: 119,048 items (his) to 17,156 items (mine, as of 3 April)...
For the record, I am not combining Expos and Nationals. That's stupid. And I also won't be combining Indians and Guardians. They'll each get their own count. I'm not sure if I'm totally 100% accurate in all this; for example some of the airbrushed unlicensed cards might not have the team affiliated with them for some cards. I can't worry about that. Nor can I worry too much if I stumbled on the wrong, for example, Blue Jays player.

That's a lot of Strawberry!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The whole collection is north of 1300 cards now. It's dizzying in a way.

ReplyDeleteHonestly surprised that the Giants aren't Strawberry as well.
ReplyDeleteI have to recheck this now. Dang it.
DeleteNice choices. I really like the dead teams...wouldn't have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I realize I forgot the Colt 45s. I think I have one or two of them. As well, the Athletics of Philadelphia and Kansas City and Oakland! I don't have any Sacramento A's yet.
DeleteNo "Sacramento" A's cards out there, it's all generic "Athletics" now. Which if you start counting those means you risk going down the Los Angeles/California/Anaheim/Los Angeles of Anaheim rabbit hole. And maybe the Cincinnati Redlegs rabbit hole.
DeleteGood point. I do have 2 Redlegs cards. That's probably one too many, too.
DeleteYou have some very impressive player collections. I don't have anywhere close to 914 cards of one player with the same team lol
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been on a Strawberry kick since 1984 or 1985 (with a break from around 1992 to 2015).
