Over on BlueSky, I do a random card from my TCDb collection everyday. This post alone is reason enough why you should join the site. It's a nice place, BlueSky; it reminds me perhaps of what life might have been like back in the era of Leave It To Beaver. (Compared to the Voldamort that is the other social media site.)
The other day, the random card was the 1988 Panini Stickers John Kruk card and it really got me nostalgically, for I remember collecting these back then. No clue when I got rid of the albums, sadly.
But the wholesomeness of Kruk in 1988, his third year with the Padres, is just that. Wholesome. And then the week after Mike Schmidt retires, the Phillies trade for Kruk and he changed. Like Portrait of Dorian Gray changed. The other card here is the 1994 Score Gold Rush card and this is relatively mild as I think his 1993 cards appear more gruff. But I think it makes the point.
Thanks for stopping by!

Baby faced Kruk.
