Trading is a Gamble

Yet another TCDB trade was recently concluded and I have a few more in the works to bring in new cards I want and to get rid of those I don't. It's almost as important to me to get rid of cards than it is to get one's I want into the collection. If you trade, is that kind of how you feel, too?

The new card I got is considered by many to be a classic.  1976 Topps Traded Oscar Gamble!

Like the Joe Morgan card I showed the other day, this one was not on my radar or my wantlist. Rather, someone had four cards from my trade list on their want list, so I spent some time then looking at their trade list to see if anything was worth proposing. As it goes with TCDB, sometimes it takes a long time to get an acceptance, a message, or a decline reponse. It is one thing I find infuriating: the waiting. (That is, of course, along with the "the stamp is worth more than the card" excuse.) It is truly inconsiderate; but in this instance everything went nice and smoothly. It is nice to have but because it wasn't something I wanted originally, it may one day be offered for trade.

Thanks for stopping by!
