I have a few 1997 Wheaties All-Star cards that were cut from Wheaties boxes. They are the Upper Deck ones of Greg Maddux, Cal Ripken Jr., Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Thomas, Paul Molitor, and Mo Vaughn. I think maybe I had like 12 of each. These were things my dad had in the basement and I salvaged them this spring and have just now gotten around to cutting them out. As part of this, I've been trading them away on TCDB and giving some away via Nathan's Sunday giveaway. I still have some left, so if anyone is interested, let's chat.
Marc B needed some and it had been a while since we traded. So I rummaged through his For Sale/Trade cards and found two cards I was interested in. His response to my trade query was "You Brett your ass." Which is great.
The other day the cards arrived and it won't surprise you to learn that they were George Brett related. They are both from 1986.
It was an easy PWE trade and I'm thrilled to have them but have been really, really happy sending somewhat obscure cards out to people who need/want them. I have had a Renaissance with collecting Brett since the documentary that MLB did on him a couple of years back. I really liked it. I liked the Schmidt one, too, but that didn't have the same effect on me.
Thanks for stopping by.
