The other six cards that I received in my lopsided trade, the first part of which I posted the other day, were Andrew McCutchen cards. My focus for McCutchen is like Sandberg, it will be playing career only. I had focussed on Topps flagship, Update, Heritage, Archives, Big League, and Stadium Club. Plus, random inserts and Topps Now cards. And, of course, the famous "Uncle Larry" SP. In other words, licensed cards! But I had neglected Bowman cards. Once upon a time I had a Bowman Platinum that I got at the LCS, but I must've traded it before I started collecting him with intention. But, I'm not sure if I'm going Bowman parallel and insert or not.
So, I got 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Bowman's as well as the 2016 Topps "Perspectives" insert, which I also used to own but must've traded. I think this Perspectives card is just awesome. So, let's see it first:
And, now the 2012-2016 Bowman cards:
Still on my want list are 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2018. After 2018, he doesn't appear in any base/flagship Bowman set, per the TCDb filters.
My current McCutchen count is 87 cards. I am going to try to achieve 100 but it's a long game, collecting, and I'll need to see what he does after this year. He's one of the most productive hitters in the Pirates lineup, so it might be that there's enough in the tank for another year. But, I could also see him retiring, which would be understandable but also make me sad.
Thanks for stopping by!
