89 and 90

I'm thrilled the Milwaukee Brewers won the World Series. Especially for a couple of lifelong Brewers fans that I know like Tony L. of the Off Hiatus Baseball Cards blog and author and librarian (or, librarian and author) Matthew Prigge, with whom I've traded cards before.  You'll never convince me that most of the Rays "fans" at the Trop were real. I insist they were either AI or animated cardboard cutouts left over from the Covid Games.

We're in that weird lull between the season, the awards, and the activity of the winter meetings which might not be very active this year. The awards are largely going to be predictable this year. And I believe tonight they are announcing the finalists. I dislike this concept. I don't want to know and I always try to do my best to avoid learning who the finalists are; but I rarely succeed. And the awards shows are unwatchable, mostly because the people on the MLB Network that do them are insufferable.

But thinking about 2027 cards.... I think it's a no-brainer that Jacob Misiorowski will be card number 1 in the set.

Some 1980s and 1990s Darryl Strawberry oddballs to show off today.

1989 Pacific Cards & Comics Playball U.S.A.

This card is probably single-handedly responsible for my insistence on buying two doughnuts when I go to buy a doughnut. Do you spell it doughnut or donut?

1990 MVP Big League

I have no idea what MVP Big League is, but I like it. What an awesome dugout photograph.

1990 Red Foley

I'm glad baseball stickers aren't scratch-n-sniff stickers.

Thanks for stopping by!
