A saga

I ordered a parallel card of Andrew McCutchen's 2026 Topps card. However, the card I got was some 1990s Nomar Garciaparra card! It was an accident and the seller was really good about working with me, and the other person, on getting the cards to the appropriate place. And I got a full refund! I sent the Nomar card directly to the other person; but that person sent the McCutchen back to the seller. Then he in turn put it back in the mail to me.

It finally arrived over a month later the other day. The saga-journey is over! And with it, the good seller included two other McCutchen cards, which was a really nice gesture. Totally unnecessary too considering I did get a refund. I guess I was out the stamp? But I don't care; I just wanted the other person to get their card. I guess I think it helped that I was totally cool about the mix-up.

One of the freebies was the 2025 Topps Holiday card. These are hokey, but I'm grateful nonetheless.

The other card was the 2026 insert of a 1991 design for the 35th anniversary.

Does anyone know what Topps is so in love with "35th" anniversaries? The 35th wedding anniversary is the "Coral" anniversary; but there's really nothing Coral about these cards. And also associated with the 35th anniversary is jade. I'm certainly jaded by Topps sometimes.

I'll show off the parallel card, which was the only thing I really wanted, in a little while.

Thanks for stopping by!
