I spend a lot of time listening to Guardians games because there's no one better in baseball radio than Tom Hamilton and his broadcast partner Jim Rosenhaus. I like watching the games, too, because I really like Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan.
I've been low-sky PCing Ramirez and Kwan for sometime now and have a good chunk of their base Topps and Stadium Club cards. A few wants/needs in there, but I'll tick those off before too long.
And as I pivot from having gone all in on Andrew McCutchen cards as his career winds down, I think that as of right now for future PC guys it'll just be Topps base/normal set (can't call it Flagship anymore since they issue some weird-ass set with Flagship in it's name that has nothing to do with the Flagship set) and Stadium Club.
In fact, the more I look at what Heritage and Archives do, recycle designs, the more I look at those as really big insert sets. I know they aren't, but that's how I feel about them. They aren't original, is what I'm trying to say. And I'll only worry with sets that have an original design year over year. Does that make sense?
Today's card is this Steven Kwan 2025 Topps Pristine Relic Auto. I won it in an eBay live auction in part because I thought that the bid I put in would be out bid. Whoops.
Topps Pristine and things like Topps Finest aren't sets that normally grab my attention. And I plomise that this wasn't a wine-induced Friday night buy! But it's near to have an autograph of a modern player that I like and for a very reasonable $26. Funnily enough, since this purchase I haven't been on eBay Live too much...
Thanks for stopping by!
