Recently I've been active in trading on TCDB and that includes sending a card or two here and there and asking for nothing in return. I've long wanted to get off of trading via TCDB because as a PWE trader, it is difficult sometimes. A lot of people don't want a card for a card. "It isn't worth the price of a stamp." Sometimes I try to send modern for vintage. That's often met with scoffing responses. However, they won't hesitate to offer their modern for my vintage. It's just kind of a pain and so I'm trying now to get to a nice round number (500 completed trades) and have been going through my cards to see which ones I don't want any longer.
But! For now I've loads of new cards to show off but will space them out.
Here are the last Topps cards for Andrew Jones and Carlos Beltran that I had to acquire because they were voted into the Hall of Fame. Beltran's harder to gauge because 2017 Topps pulled out its 1980s Donruss for the card back and only showed the last five years. But, if you could see all of his stats to go along with that of Jones' you'd see very much two guys that have no business sniffing the Hall of Fame.
I'll show off one more card because those two leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Paul Skenes may well one day have a bad taste in his mouth because he spent X number of years in Pittsburgh. But he's had a decent career so far going back-to-back winning Rookie of the Year and Cy Young.
The thing I like best about 2026 Topps is all the texture that the design gives it. It's just wonderful and 'real' in the way that a lot of the graphics in recent years has been overdone: cards that look way better on a computer screen than in hand.
Thanks for stopping by!
