This Jose Ramirez card is one that I received in a recent trade. It's the 2022 Topps Japan edition card and I got if from someone with an APO address. That's another notch in the attempt to trade with every state in the nation. There are two non-state outliers, an APO and DC. So, I was happy to be able to knock this out.
In addition to the Ramirez, I got a few John Kruk cards in that were purchases. This 2024 Topps 206 is one of them. I don't really like these cards; they are super boring and predictable. Just like everything under the A & G brand. 206 should be scratched from production.
A book was staring at me in the new releases section of my library and so I decided to check it out.
The cover of book is great; the book itself is meh. The cover would have been better if Leavy's name and/or even a signature appeared beneath the title of the book, to better replicate how the actual baseball looks. But if I have to think of everything, then no one else will have to think at all.
I've never read anything by Leavy before, but she is smug and her writing style is that of someone who likes the smell of their own farts.
Two chapters were skipped completely, those on the Savannah Bananas. I did not get much from the book and I am not quite certain she'd make a good commissioner at all. A stone in my garden would be better than Manfred.
