I've been on a mini Darryl Strawberry binge in the last week or so and have a bunch of cards both already delivered and incoming. Today's post shows me being a hypocrite.
Largely, Allen & Ginter is boring to me. But I noticed a card I thought I had but discovered I didn't. So naturally that meant I had to get it. In the process of trying to find the best deal, I saw that I could get a bunch of A & G cards for an average of about .20 cents each on Sportlots. This puts more cards into the collection and I guess total volume matters.
Two cards came from the same seller and they are almost, almost, the same card. It's the 2020 Allen & Ginter Chrome and it's mini-me version...
These Chrome cards look quite different in hand than they do scanned. And, in fact, they look on the whole infinitely nicer than the base version, which makes the base versions the vanilla ice cream the A & G card universe. Now, I'm by and large a boring person, but I do like my cards, like I like my ice cream, to be a little less than boring.
