In 2017, Topps did this Rediscover Topps initiative and stamped a ton of their cards, as well as OPC and even Leaf and Donruss, with "Rediscover Topps" in several colors (Bronze, Blue, Red, Silver, Gold, etc.). It is a gimmick, but it's kind of fun. Frankly, it's more appealing that 341 parallels. Maybe because these are the actual cards from a previous generation. The universe of what was stamped is expanding as it generally seems to be unknown what cards they had and in which color they were stamped. Maybe that's fun? I think it's rather annoying.
I completed another TCDB trade and on my end, I got the 1987 Topps rookie card for John Kruk stamped in Bronze. How anyone can tell the difference between bronze and gold is beyond me; they virtually look the same to my eyes.
Do you have any of these cards in your collection? I have one other Kruk and then a couple of Strawberry cards, too.
Thanks for stopping by!
