Some recent trades on TCDB are complete. This post is about them. You do some crazy things when you're trying to get rid of cards. At least, I do. You go for cards that are half-heartedly on your want list just to get rid of cards on your trade list. Thus, I got the following 2018 Topps Gallery card.
Like Diamond Kings, Topps Gallery is a heinous product and I half hate myself for acquiring it. But you do crazy things...
Almost similar in terms of its undesirability in my collection purview, there is Allen & Ginter. Allen & Ginter should've just stayed a thing that was done with animals and the like in the 19th century. Modern Allen and Ginter baseball is a lame product.
This the Gold Border variation. And it turns out I already had it. It was the plain, base version I didn't have. But in a previous trade it was sent to me and I didn't know any better. My dislike isn't sour grapes as I'm sure it was an honest mistake. But I hope to get rid of this dupe before too long.
Also in a trade, I got the exciting Black Border variation. I know! So different!
I am anxious to stop trading on TCDB and am very nearly done with the cards I have available. I'm not finding any matches and I'm really tired of people declining "because it's not worth the postage" or just flat out being ignored. (Even "free" card(s) offers--for which I'm not asking for anything in return--are sometimes in limbo for like four or five days! And I know they are being ignored because on TCDB you can see when people were last on the site! So, a few cards are going into the trash.
How do you feel about the Topps Gallery and Allen & Ginter products? Have you ever thrown away cards?
Thanks for stopping by!
