Recent trades

I enjoy trading on TCDb, but I'm a small time trader. A PWE-man, if you will. And many won't trade PWE anymore because of postage rates being what they are. But I've complained about that here, somewhere, already. But I do want to highlight a few recent trades which got my to be traded list down to zero cards! I showed off some cards from Shane last week, if you remember. But now for some others.

These two Ryne Sandberg cards were welcome additions from 49ants.

1990 Topps - 1990 All-Star Set Collector's Edition (Glossy Send-Ins) and 1996 Circa

This Nolan Ryan 1984 Topps Ralston Purina card came from moondog7809!

And finally, ceasterday sent me this 1991 Donruss MVP.

This is a variation, as you can imagine. In particular, it is the "© 1990 LEAF, INC." on back variation. I do seek the variations for Darryl Strawberry and John Kruk, but for no one else.

Maybe I'll get some more cards to trade in the future, or I'll identify cards in my collection that I no longer want. But as it stands I have completed 377 transactions wit 263 trade partners. Happily I've sent cards to five countries (US, Canada, Estonia, Austria and the Netherlands (AKA Holland). Cards sent: 998 (Ok... didn't realize this; now I have to get to 1000) and cards received (649). I sent a lot of cards to people asking for nothing in return and those honestly might be my favorite trades.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love those '80s glossy sets. ... Back when blogs were hopping I traded with people in a whole bunch of countries, England, France, Australia, Italy. But on TCDB it's just been U.S./Canada for me.

    1. I love those glossy sets too. I love getting the cards I couldn't or didn't get, like this one, from the time I was first collecting.

  2. Love '80s oddball/food-issues. If I ever get to the point where my team/player wants are mostly complete, I'd probably start trying to build those- and tv/movie show sets from the 70s and 80s.

    1. The 80s had great non-major issues. They've aged mostly well, too, I think. I think I only ever collected, in the non-sport category, garbage pail kids and a Superman II set. I got some Redskins cards that were given out by a crossing guard in elementary school, but, otherwise, it was Baseball or nothing, for me.

  3. Did I miss you becoming a Ryno PC guy?

    1. I've always had a goodly number of his cards but I started getting more when my trade bait dried up for Kruk and Strawberry cards. So, I guess kinda sorta.
