Free Sandberg

In April I placed an order for some baseball cards from a website I used a few times in 2016 or so, when I was getting back into collecting. My card was never charged. After a couple of weeks I wrote to ask if the order was received. Still, nothing. I was confused as my previous experience was good. After nearly a month passed, I finally heard and it seems like my order somehow just got lost in the shuffle. Whatever: just send me the cards.

They were some Darryl Strawberry cards, John Kruk, and Ryne Sandberg. One of the cards wasn't in the order because they couldn't find it. One wasn't in the order because it simply wasn't in the order. But, they included a bunch of things I didn't order. Perhaps to compensate? I am not really sure.

Three of the freebies were 1989, 1990, and 1991 Panini stickers. Not really "cards" that I had my sights on for my Sandberg collection, but they are welcome nonetheless.

Another freebie was this 1985 Ryne Sandberg sticker. I guess they have a lot of stickers hanging around? This is a "panel", I guess, which includes Mike Hargrove. The hat airbrushing is pretty epic.

Now, for the card I ordered! By the way, one of the cards they couldn't locate was also a Sandberg. But this card is the 1989 SCD Baseball Card Price Guide Monthly card. In theory this is supposed to match 1964 Topps but it does a very poor job of that.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Yikes! I hope their order picking has improved. I've been fortunate to not have any poor buying experiences, other than an eBay purchase or two.

    1. I do hope that I was an outlier with regards to order fulfillment. That's probably my worst experience to date. I've gotten the wrong card in trades, but that's no big deal.
