No mail Monday

Today is a holiday, so no regular mail delivery. No mail Monday. Personally, I love Mondays. But maybe I love no mail Mondays a little bit less than a normal, regular Monday. Recent eBay purchases have been sent using the eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) but it is not a perfect service as the cards were scanned at the origination somewhere in South Carolina and Wisconsin, respectively, but with no updates along the way. Though, happily they made it to my mailbox so who cares, ultimately? Though I would like the service to work better as there is some anxiety that develops when updates fail to be logged.

I will not at this time show off the card(s) received because it is part of a project I think I have always wanted to do since the 1980s, but just did not for some unknown reason. But I hope to finish it later in the spring as I am going about it at basically a one card per month pace. Though, I am in no rush to complete it as I want to find the right cards at the right prices. They are vintage. That's all I'm saying. It is a Pittsburgh Pirates player. That's really all I'm going to say. He also had a broadcast career with the Mets. But that's truly all I'm saying. I will not tell you it's Ralph Kiner. I won't: so don't ask.

Part of my collecting focus recently has been on George Brett and Nolan Ryan. I have their Topps cards in sets from 1979 to 1992, but wanted to get their Fleer and Donruss cards and then also maybe a Score or an Upper Deck or what have you. A recent Trading Card Database trade saw the receipt of this 1982 Fleer card.

I have also gotten a few Mike Schmidt and Rod Carew cards as they are players I particularly liked back in the day. The true focus here is on Hall of Fame players but it also got me/gets me representative cards of these card makers.

Thanks for stopping by!
